COVID-19 Reopening Update: Summer 2023
The Maunakea Observatories are starting to resume in-person tours and activities, along with other astronomy related facilities on Hawai’i Island:
NSF's NOIRLab is now offering limited tours of Gemini North on a reservation basis.
The Visitor Information Station, midway up the mountain, reopened in July 2021; more information is available at https://hilo.hawaii.edu/maunakea/visitor-information/.
'Imiloa Astronomy Center is now open Thursday - Sunday, 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM (as of Summer 2023)
