Resolving the Complicated and Crowded Environments of Massive Stars in the Neighboring Triangulum Galaxy
Join Shadow the Scientists and W.M. Keck Observatory on November 20 at 8p for an immersive experience looking at rare Wolf-Rayet stars, some of the most massive and energetic stars in the Universe! These stars are typically born into very crowded stellar environments.
In this session, we will join Raja GuhaThakurta and his research team as they use the W. M. Keck Observatory’s OSIRIS integral field unit instrument with laser-guide-star adaptive optics to separate these crowded stars and study them individually.
Prepare to see the universe in high definition as we unravel the secrets of these cosmic powerhouses, one star at a time!
